The Community Film Project produces full-length, original films with a spirit of inclusion, creativity, and learning. Our goal is not just to make movies, but to create opportunities for people to grow, collaborate, and discover what they’re capable of in a real production environment.
Our current production, Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical, has brought together over 30 or more talented team members since November 2024 - each contributing their time, and heart to bring this story to life.

Together, we’ve already logged over 3,000 hours across Content, Production, Marketing, Fundraising, Administration, and Education teams. Every role matters. Every contribution counts. And every person involved is helping shape something truly special.
A Place to Learn, Create, and Belong; we teach on set while filming.
One of the most powerful parts of this project is that it creates space for people at different stages of their creative journeys. Some of our team members are seasoned professionals. Others are stepping onto a film set for the very first time. What they share is a willingness to learn, to help one another, and to show up consistently for something bigger than themselves.
This is what makes community filmmaking so special. It’s not about perfection — it’s about growth, collaboration, and discovering what’s possible when people are encouraged instead of excluded.
Why We Chose a Community-Driven Model

We believe storytelling should be accessible. Not everyone can move to a major city, attend expensive film programs, or take unpaid internships to “get their foot in the door.”
But that doesn’t mean their stories, creativity, and work ethic are any less valuable.
By building a volunteer-based, education-focused production, we’re able to:
Provide real-world film experience
Teach production workflows and collaboration
Build confidence and creative skills
Strengthen local creative networks
Create meaningful stories that reflect our community
This film exists because people care - not because there’s a big check behind it.
And that matters.

A Film Made With Heart (and a Lot of Teamwork)
Making a full-length film takes patience, organization, communication, and a whole lot of trust.
From rehearsals and set builds to marketing and community outreach, every department is working together to make sure this story reaches the finish line.
It hasn’t always been easy. But it has been incredibly rewarding.
Watching strangers become teammates, and teammates become friends has been one of the most meaningful parts of this process.
How You Can Be Part of the Journey??
Whether you’re a supporter, a local business, a creative, or someone who simply loves stories, there are many ways to be part of what we’re building.
You can:
Follow and share our updates
Attend community events and screenings
Support local sponsors who support the film
Spread the word about our mission
Reach out if you’re interested in future projects
This project is proof that when people come together with a shared purpose, amazing things can happen.
We are so grateful to every person who has donated time, skills, encouragement, and belief into this film. Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical is more than a movie — it’s a reflection of what community can accomplish when creativity and kindness lead the way.
And this is just the beginning.
