Beverly's Terrace Plaza Playhouse supports a Northern Utah Youth Theatre - How does our merch help?

Community theatre has always been more than a stage. It’s a place where confidence grows, creativity thrives, and stories bring people together. Today, a new chapter is unfolding in Northern Utah, and it’s one that invites the entire community to be part of something bigger than a single performance.

If you don't know who we are, we are Community Film Project. Following the passion and drive by our Director Lucas James McGraw, we are currently filming at the theatre. It's been a pleasure to share the space with Kim, Jacci and all the local talent.

We are currently filming "Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical." Did you know that Kim and Jacci both have roles in our film?

Anyways, let's talk about what we're up to! We’re proud and honored to partner with Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse to help bring a bold vision to life: "The Academy." It's a dedicated creative space designed to inspire youth and nurture the next generation of performers, storytellers, and artists.

Through a special T-shirt sponsorship campaign, or even a one-off purchase, every bit of support helps move this dream forward.

A Legacy Built on Passion and Community

For more than 30 years, Beverly’s Terrace Plaza Playhouse has been a cornerstone of family-friendly theatre in the Ogden area. What began as a transformed grocery store in Washington Terrace grew into a beloved creative hub built on sacrifice, volunteerism, and a deep-rooted sense of family.

Founded by Beverly and Blaine Olsen, the Playhouse was never just about putting on shows, it was about creating opportunities.

After Beverly’s passing in 2005 and Blaine’s in 2018, their vision didn’t fade. Instead, it evolved under the leadership of their daughter Jacci and her husband Kim Florence, continuing a legacy that has already touched thousands of lives through more than 4,000 performances. Now, that legacy is expanding once again.

The Academy: A Dream Years in the Making

The Academy represents a powerful next step; a space designed specifically for youth to explore theatre, creativity, and the performing arts in a supportive and inspiring environment.

This initiative aims to provide:

  • A welcoming creative home for young performers

  • State-of-the-art resources for theatre education

  • Opportunities for youth to build confidence, collaboration skills, and artistic expression

With an ambitious goal of raising $1 million, the Playhouse is inviting the community to help transform this vision into reality. Every contribution whether large or small, helps create a lasting impact on future generations.

Why This Campaign Matters

When you support this merch campaign, you’re doing more than buying a shirt.

You’re investing in a future where young artists have access to safe, creative spaces that encourage growth and imagination.

This partnership also connects the worlds of theatre and film. A portion of proceeds supports the upcoming feature film Murder at the Lufferton Christmas Musical, a project that celebrates storytelling while honoring Beverly and Blaine’s original dream of building a wholesome, creative environment for students across Northern Utah.

It’s a collaboration that reflects what local arts are all about community, creativity, and connection.

Wear the Mission. Share the Vision.

Supporting local theatre doesn’t always look like standing under stage lights. Sometimes, it looks like wearing a shirt that sparks a conversation. Sometimes, it looks like showing the next generation that their creativity matters.
