For many independent films, getting this far is incredibly difficult. Reaching the finish line takes persistence and a whole lot of people willing to believe in something before it fully exists.

👨‍👩‍👧 Are Families & Kids Welcome?

Yes - families are welcome. However, because filming requires extended periods of sitting quietly:

  • We recommend children be at least 5 years old

  • A parent or legal guardian must remain with minors at all times

  • Minors may not participate without guardian approval and supervision

If your child loves theatre or movies, this can be a fun behind-the-scenes experience.

🎄 Wardrobe Guidelines

Please dress as if you’re attending a festive local theatre production. Think Casual, but a splash of Christmas doesn't hurt!

Think:

  • Cozy holiday sweaters

  • Festive scarves

  • Winter date-night outfits

  • Community theatre attire

  • Christmas colors and textures

Please avoid:

  • Large visible logos

  • Graphic-heavy clothing

  • Bright neon colors

  • Distracting patterns

We want the audience to feel warm, timeless, and cinematic on screen.

🎥 What It’s Like Being a Background Extra

In this scene, you’ll portray theatre guests enjoying a Christmas musical performance alongside other community members.

No acting experience is needed.

You’ll experience:

  • Cameras rolling between takes

  • Directors giving live adjustments

  • Actors performing scenes multiple times

  • The behind-the-scenes rhythm of filmmaking

  • A real independent film production environment

We simply ask that you:

  • Bring good energy

  • Follow direction well

  • Be respectful during filming

  • Remain quiet during active takes

  • Stay for the full filming block if possible

Film production can involve multiple resets and repeated takes, and background extras play an important role in helping scenes feel authentic and alive.
